Well, CBC NewsWorld cuts to a commercial (if they remember), and PBS cuts to a sponsership thing (BBC World News was brought to you by.....)
On PBS, wliw cuts, but most of the time now it is done badly, which is explained anove that they cut 15 sec before the handover to weather. Most of the time is is done in mid sentence. Example: "the pope recov.. BBC World News brought to by WLIW. Funding for the presentation is by....." Its funny sometimes. Oh yeah, WLIW's new logo reminds me of the old UK presentation in the 70's that i have seen, like LWT's. Thier logo will help explain it: WLIW Back to BBC World.
It was good to see the Floor Manager walking onto the right hand side of the screen at the start of "The World"... was it Big Ted or TOG? Downstream, upstream or on top of it?
Most importantly - what brand was his red sweater? I think it would help my life if I knew this.
What the fúcking hell are you talking about, you cretin?

It was a surprise to see the Floor Manager walking into view on the right hand side of the picture at the start of "The World"!
There - is that "fúcking" clear enough for you BBC LDN?
It certainly is. Your previous gibberish - which I can only assume must have been some kind of weak and misguided attempt to be funny - was entirely devoid of humour, intelligence and sense. You've done well to clarify your comments.
I clicked onto BBC World's website today, and was greeted by the following message:
"Important Information:
On Tuesday 22 February at 0430 CET, there may be a short interruption to BBC World's European service. If your satellite receiver does not adjust itself after 15 seconds, please turn it off and then on again."
Does anyone have any idea as to why there will be an interruption to the service for European viewers? It's happening in the middle of the night, so not many Europeans should actually notice what's going on (which is probably the intention!).
Also, I noticed that harshy posted about a better quality version of BBC World on the Astra 19.2E satellites. I searched for the channel, and I can confirm that BBC World is available at the following frequences on digital satellite in Europe:
Thanks for confirming itsrobert, just had a look myself, it's BBC World, then DW-TV and then Sky News International, very handy to have such high quality services in one place.
I think the transponder may belong to Canal Satellite France, the poor version of BBC World is broadast by another french provider ABSAT.
Hmm, I wonder which satellite is BBC World using for the asian viewers?
Does 'digital' signal means clearer pictures or?
There are a number of satellites that BBC World use for their asian transmissions, BBC World India broadcasts on Nilesat 7 degrees West, that beam is aimed in Egypt and is broadcast in the clear..
Digital means clearer pictures for sure, but it's a compressed version of the analogue picture.
