I see a tweet of a the new graphics appeared earlier today, which allows a bit of a comparison. (I've left the images full size, if there's complaints I'd be happy to thumbnail them)

Looks like they are the telly version - and not just for social media. Obviously, only time will tell.

The last forecast from the old look on the News Channel, just before the new comes in any minute...

It's certainly fresher. I'm not sure about the dark boxes behind the place names though - would've been better to use a drop shadow as they cover large parts of the map - particularly Birmingham.

Looks good on-screen, IMO. The temperature boxes seem a bit "effect for the sake of it" but not off-putting. The rest is just a crisper look, nice. I notice that in Reporting Scotland they didn't do that traffic light animation thing when referring to the Met Office yellow weather warning for ice, but did show it on the map and mention it in the commentary.

On Twitter, the Met Office published their lunchtime video forecast at the exact same time for the first time in ages, using a new hashtag #MetOfficeForecast (which might as well have read #NotMeteoGroup)

Would look better in Reith, but I suppose that will happen once the News Channel adopts it and it'll all be done at the same time.

Agreed. Why do they have to turn the fill-up boxes into tiny, pathetic stripes? Certainly not as intuitive as what they've been using and also makes every thing too small to read. Like the rest of the changes though.
