I think Shefali was on about the specific maps from the day, and a lot of the issues boiled down to the lack of staff training before the rollout.

Hopefully that won't be an issue this time. Certainly the Look East time have been to London on a couple of occasions for training - with someone from London covering the forecast on those days.

Tuesday at 1:30pm seems an odd time to launch a new look for the weather... Embarassed

Pqresumably so they've Monday and Tuesday morning to clear up any remaining issues and get ready for the launch without having to pay to get extra people in over the weekend and super early on Tuesday.

Also the forecasts on the news channel in the mornings have been from Salford for a while now, with I think the 1:30 being the first from London

Depends on the forecaster. They had Lucy Martin and Behnaz Akhgar do the Derbyshire/Newsroom Live bulletins from BH.

The BBC Weather Home Page now directs to an explanation of the new weather service and how to use it.

EDIT: I am already enjoying the full screen interactive weather map, where you can zoom out and move around the globe. Very Happy

Well, my iphone 6s prompted me to update last night, utterly ridiculous the hour by hour 'granularity' for the weather more than three days ahead. Complete lack of common sense being applied

It's the way Meteogroup has always worked, their standard time frames being 5 and 14 days ahead. Its been the case for many years online and also with their apps when they launched too.

and ...
