Why randomise it when it bares no relation to the current weather.

So at any given time the weather around the world is the exact same?! No!

I think the point is, that generally sunny/cloudy weather is considered 'neutral' - showing a dark and stormy blizzard would probably be seen as a more specific warning about an imminent weather condition.

I think the globes are a super part of the BBC Weather pres; esspecially the ones on Spring watch and Skiing Weather.

Looks like the weather software went pear shaped for the forecast at the end of the six, with Nick Miller doing a radio style forecast stood in front of the spinning globe, with no clicker in his hand

Good job the globe animation is on rotation - the maps didn't appear during the Six so we were left with just Nick explaining. He didn't even have a clicker so must have known before turning up that it wasn't working.

No humour between him and Sian about it though, they just did it as though it was completely normal.

His clicker was on the floor I think, so I guess he'd given up on it shortly beforehand.

Night-time weather graphic used at the end of the Ten O'Clock News - has this been used before? Used by BBC Wales on their forecast as well. Is this the same one as posted a few pages back or a variation?

Looked very nice on screen. (cap from online forecast)

Just noticed this used on a forecast on News 24 as well.

I did mention this on the BBC News thread, but it got removed. Well, I did snigger at this tonight. I'm sure you're not allowed to say "Oh, God" when your transmission suddenly vanishes and reverts to the weather caption and then BBC World's N9. Laughing

Just waiting for it to upload to photobucket, then I'll post the vid..... Laughing

EDIT:
Here it is....
