I like the slick turn the main presenter does there the moment he closes the programme, to talk to the weather presenter.

That is pretty bad, then again I hate the national ones that my eyes read as 'BBC .. N E W S'

It's slightly hard to tell from a PC screen, but that looks like it might be a field display, rather than a full frame, but only on the red bar text ... which is slightly odd. It can happen though if the artwork has been grabbed or imported into the character generator software incorrectly. I've had very similar problems in the past and have had to change the grab or playout options from field to frame in order to get text like this to display properly.

But BBC Newsline does it perfectly. Even incorporates a DOG which remains onscreen
At least it animates on and off, unlike most other regions, I think there are only four regions with animating astons. Newsline, Reporting Scotland, Wales Today/Tonight and North West Today/Tonight (thanks in so small part to their tie in with Sport/Breakfast) everyone else just blinks on and off screen.
