The desk is nice enough but really do feel the multiple big screens is a step back.

I guess you want some Barcos over there? Very Happy

It looks a bit NBH Studio B to me! That's no bad thing.

That is pretty much exactly what it looks like. Purple for Newyddion, red for Wales Today.

It indeed looks a bit like NBH Studio B, though I hope that the Newyddion's execution will fit with the new studio...
but I guess Wales Today will still have the BBC News branding?

Yes.

Are C2 and Studio B the same size then or of comparable size as they look identical or near identical to me?

Desk reminds me of Studio C and the set looks like Studio B! That's great.

EDIT - Just a question, will the Wales Today opening music get a new hold? That's what I'm hoping for WT. Smile

Does anyone know if S4C itself is having any kind of rebrand on Monday with the relaunch of Newyddion and the associated schedule changes?

I wonder what will happen to their old set. Nottingham is looking very tired now - I wonder if it will be shipped over to them!

I doubt it, I expect if any regions are going to get a new set it will be along the lines of the Wales Today Set. I expect if changes are too occur to the sets it will be something like a facelift like South Today in 2002 - where parts of it are changed (Although hopefully not get rid of the desk!) Along those lines it would probably be something like the Studio C 'grill' rather than anything else or a new desk.

One thing this rebrand does show however is how much space is used up by the Projection Screens - The New Set looks much larger thanks in part to the LCD Screens opposed to the Projection Screens. With a set like that it would make you wish that they'dd bring back Newsnight Wales or introduce Late Kick Off Wales just for even more variation.

Well it's up and running, but no HD.

Liking the the set quite a lot actually. The greener titles look amazing and I'm glad they've not fiddled with the music as its one of the best pieces of BBC News music there is.

Am I the only one that doesn't like the rebrand? The green in the titles looks auful. It looks like they've just turned the green too high.
And the new set is very plain. The gallery in the background looks very cheap compared to itv news. There's a very slow frame rate to it.
I really like the temp set. Shame they didn't just keep that to be honest.

Combined with the "dumm-dumm" of the drums, the "flash" of the globe in-between the headline stories at the top of the programme looks like it's trying to subconsciously imprint the word SWANSEA into everyone's minds. It's a little bit distracting, they'd be better off taking all the placenames out of those bits.
