Good to here that Newyddion is moving away from the generic look, though to be fair they've generally speaking had fairly nice versions of the BBC graphics. With that said though I'm not a huge fan of S4C's current branding, so hopefully they can make it a bit more interesting.

Newyddion is getting a new theme as well, composed by Gareth Glyn. S4C really need a brand refresh, particularly idents (the website is currently being redeveloped) but it should be done with a fraction of the cash they spent last time. There was quite a row in 2007 about the amount spent on the re-brand. By now the idents look spectacularly dull and slow. The quirkier ones are never used and the innovative 'voice-activated' ones were retired.

We'll get to see the new set on April 22nd.

Any hints at the style? Does it emulate Broadcasting House in any way?

It looks a bit NBH Studio B to me! That's no bad thing.

That is pretty much exactly what it looks like. Purple for Newyddion, red for Wales Today.

It indeed looks a bit like NBH Studio B, though I hope that the Newyddion's execution will fit with the new studio...
but I guess Wales Today will still have the BBC News branding?

Looks like there's going to be a preview of the new look coming up in a few minutes on Wales Today - just been trailed with some clips of old titles and a shot of the new set under construction.
