A simple but nice set for both BBC Wales and S4C (practically identical) in Cardiff Bay, recycling the 2010 graphics. Interesting they don't have anyone from the "Yes" or "No" campaign in the studio - just the political editor and someone doing the Peter Snow job, but running smoothly enough as they try to fill 5-6 hours of TV with a result which looks like a unanimous "Yes" vote across the 22 constituencies.

Two very nice sets - if only Wales Today could move down to the Bay and have a background like this.

It's a shame about the barriers, OB trucks and the like that can be regularly spotted in the background though, it makes the Bay look a bit messy. The sound isn't great either - quite a few echos, doors slamming, etc.

For those interested in such matters, the Royal Opening of the Welsh Assembly is being simulcast on BBC Parliament. (And they've even got a clean feed, rather than just a Sky Dodgybox...)

Special titles and graphics for the Royal Opening of the Assembly, and nice to see them change the colour of the columns in the set to match (a regular viewer of Wales Today alone probably doesn't know they do this for Newyddion on S4C and vice versa). Unfortunate that they had to stick an extra desk on the side of the main one though.

Some minor changes to Wales Today actually - recently they've been putting the titles after the first headline, with a sting after the rest (before the titles were sometimes about a minute and a half in, after all the headlines), and they've also introduced a new oval transition in the headlines reminiscent of the one from a few years back. Some of the big stories recently have really shown how strong the single presenter format is too, IMO - not having a single anchor in practice but instead a team of very versatile presenters, almost all of whom have been known to present the main bulletin (which often comes from location) single-handedly, works really well.
