Here's the very blue set for Newyddion - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiPWymcSS9Q

Lazy effort it seems. Headline vamp and closing exactly the same with titles music ever so slightly modified.

There is no CSO used - they are the same old projection screens. It's easier to see on the video for Newyddion - you can see the reflection on the floor change as the screen changes, from 0:55 to 1:00.

Why is there that strange green reflection on the above image?

I don't know why, but the BBC Newsline set in NI suffers from the same green spill beside one of its back projection screens.

Can anybody who speaks Welsh tell me what they were saying about England in the world cup in the Welsh language news shown above?

In the full news programme they had an intro about the World Cup squad selection and an item asking a question about which team Welsh football fans would support - one said he was supporting England, another wasn't Smile

Looks like the end of the titles has been revised since they were first made to include the new BBC Cymru logo, as seen here.

Looks like they've cleaned up the studio floor and given it a lick of paint. They're using a lot more wide stand-up opening shots now, so it does look better.

For how long has Garry Owen been doing the news in English ?

For how long has Garry Owen been doing the news in English ?

He's been one of the weekend newsreaders for a few weeks now. A good move by BBC Wales - with his experience of newsreading, clear delivery and warm personality, he performs very favourably in comparison to some of the reporters who present the short bulletins IMO.

In that cap above you can also see the image reflected on the desk. I think the green reflection on the floor is just to do with the floor itself.

CSO technology is rather good these days, and can do reflections in desks.
Reporting Scotland do CSO with the red panels at the side of their set:

Ta for that - I do agree with you, I like Garry Owen's style, v friendly. I do hope that perhaps the Garry van can make a bit of a comeback now.

Mind you it is peculiar hearing him speak English, still not over it with Alex Jones either.

No coverage from HTV for the referendum count tomorrow, but I see both BBC One Wales and S4C have coverage of the count from Cardiff.

I assume since it probably be a BBC Wales production for S4C this is the right place?
