Poor Darren has been working his socks off this weekend

He has done

1. The 1 O' Clock News on Friday

2. The 10 O' Clock News on Friday

3. The 12 noon News on Saturday

4. The 5.05pm News on Saturday

5. The 10.10pm News on Saturday

6. The 7.35pm News on Sunday

7. The 10 O' Clcok News on Sunday.

What are they trying to do to him, I bet he's knackered. Shocked

About a third of what Peter Levy's done in the same period, then!

Well if he's not already knackered, he will be after wheelbarrowing all that money to the bank.

He's a good newsreader, please explain why.

Oh yes, it must be really hard to stay awake to read two ten or twenty minute bulletins. Compare that to what the presenters of the news channels do, espeically the itv news channel. Sometimes you see them at 1 in the afternoon, and they're still on at midnight, on for hours at a time. And i'm sure that the pay a bbc1 presenter gets makes up for having to read the autocue until 10pm.

I've seen Mr Turnbull do more than that.

Darren is *OK* Bobs up and down a bit too much for my liking, and doesn't seem to have much 'natural' warmth.

I'd definately rate Bill above him.

I met Darren at the Edinburgh BBC News on Tour last year. He's very nice, and I would like to see more of him on the Six and Ten.

Yeah he's a nice guy. I like him being on the One because thats the programme I watch most.

Off-topic, the BBC News on tour in Edinburgh was absolutely fantastic. I got a go on the vision mixing and the sound mixing. Smile

As I have posted in another thread, I agree that he is quite poor on the weekend bulletins, Jane Hill, Peter Sissons or Maxine Mawhinney are better. He is, however very good on the 1 and the 10 IMHO.

It's hardly coal mining is it? I'm sure a lot of people would work Friday to Sunday if it meant they got Monday to Thursday off!
