Notice that pretty much everyone had the anti-climax of wanting to see some news studio but didn't?

I think the BBC should considder something like that...the BBC is pretty famous for the news, why not showcase it more? Like possibly bringing you to a particular corner of the News 24 studio or somewhere nearby or something, rahter than just the news centre

Maybe its just us who care about the news? I mean, you never meet anyone who says their favourite programme is the news- presumably most people would prefer to see the TOTP set, or something?

I went on a tour round BBC Manchester many years ago. They showed us the North West Tonight studio (I remember thinking how small it was - and how tatty the set was close-up!) Some people "volunteered" to do a bulletin from autocue, which was a good laugh. Also a tour of the other main tv studio and one of the radio studios. It was a good day and we got loads of promotion freebies (and the tour was free).

How much do the tours of TVC cost, and how do you apply? Very Happy

Cause perhaps the people who work there don't want a bunch of bloody nosy TV Forum geeks walking about while they get on with their work!

Then there's the security issue and the fact that unlike the big studios there is no viewing gallery for the news ones. The BBC does showcase News with BBC News and Sport on Tour - which is happening again this year starting in May.

I went a few years ago and it was quite good - we went to the conference room where the News Centre is first. Also, went outside by the fountain and that, went in and sat down in the Top Of The Pops studio (where they did the backstage stuff) and went in one of the dressing rooms too... Razz
