I'm sure you're not the only person who doesn't pay particularly close attention to Question TIme
Sorry, veering off topic here, but what the frig was that pretentious, smug nobhead, Kwame Kwei Armah (real name Ian Roberts btw) doing on the panel last night?
I know they get people in from the world of entertainment occasionally, but the ambulance driver from Casualty? Who next? Kevin Webster? Give me strength!
"Ten Extra"- the interactive service for the ten o'clock news launches later this month.

As part of his speech to delegates from all over Europe and the United States, the BBC Chairman also announced the launch of Ten Extra, an interactive service due later this month around the 10 O'Clock News, which Mr Grade claimed would add an extra dimension to the news and provide "another way for the BBC to deliver its public value commitment."
I think the Ten O'Clock News has been quite poor of late. I thought its commitment was to covering international news, other than domestic, however hardly any is covered now, one or two stories at the most. The One and Six are worse.
It is true that ITV News has improved a lot, and the News at 10.30 is a really good programme now, even if it is too short. But I am really disappointed, the Ten used to be very good, with a lot of international news, but now we only really get a special report from Darfur etc. I understand that the situation in Darfur is terrible, and something needs to be done, but the BBC keep doing reports on it reporting the same thing every few weeks. I would much rather see a report on the growing tensions in Côte d'Ivoire or Rwanda.
And what is with the bombardment of reports from Razia Iqbal on news from the arts world, there's nearly a report from her on every programme on some opera etc., the Ten never used to cover such issues, why now ?
The BBC's coverage of domestic news is good, but I just feel it could do more on international stories.
the only thing i dont like about the ten is the fact it is the BBC's flagship news show, yet it is like all the other BBC news programes! it would be better if they went back to pre-1999, when the 9 had it's own studio, music and i think graphics

Think you mean pre-1993 - from then the One, Six and Nine all shared the same virtual blue studio (as did Breakfast News until 1997)
There were some subtle differences - the Nine had the orange UK map backdrop - and all three shows had different formats and virtual "cut glass" bits - but they were all from the same desk in the same studio ISTR.
The graphics were linked in style - though not always identical between bulletins - and the music was different for each outlet.
However today the One, Six and Ten all use different versions of the music for their headlines, and shoot their programmes differently on the same set.
I came across an old tape the other day, that had the last ever Nine O'Clock News from 2000 on it, and I think it was probably the only BBC News bulletin that didn't need revamping in 1999, as that was the only bulletin that didn't get new presenters. Remember the music was major and had alot of seriousness to it and made it felt like a proper heavyweight News At Ten style of bulletin, but it didn't feel right when they replaced it with the look in 1999.
The One and Six needed revamping in 1999, as they were very out of date and were rather boring, but got better when they introduced the new look, it also made the Six watchable again IMO.
I wasn't too keen on Huw until I heard him in this interview. He seems like a great laugh, he doesn't seem to come across as interesting and bubbly when he's presenting the News.
Have you got a recording of the Fiona Bruce on the Steve Wright show. She was on it late last year.
I don't I'm afraid. I only get a chance to listen to Wrighty on R2 every now and then if I'm not at college during the afternoon, which is an infrequent occurence (I don't get home until around 5:30/6pm most days!) - this recording was very much by chance.
Yesterday they said that they made a mistake on the Ten on Friday concerning iraq and the numbers dead and if you want to know more go to the website. (not much use to people who dont have the internet)
Anyway i cant find it? anyone know where corrections go on BBC news website?
