Nice tight Fix this week.

What on earth was Peter Sissons doing a) with the dog and b) talking about a couple getting "vaguely intimate".

He's come a long way since the nine o'clock news.

Shame Emily's off, but I think Kate Silverton could do a grand job if she put a bit more zip into it compared to her last outing.

The dog feature was to do with animal psychology, apparently dogs do have feelings and get jealous. A perfect opportunity for Sissons to make a fool of himself. As if he needs an excuse!

I love the weekly "It's Saturday...It's Sport...It's Saturday Sportday" link that he trundles out every week as if it was the first time he's said it.

I assumed her message at the end was meaning that's she's off on maternity leave, but I could be very, very wrong. Shocked

She did say she was off "to add to the population", but I've got to say that she doesn't look as far gone (pregnancy wise) compared to many presenters who seem to work right up to delivery time.

I'm starting to warm to him, or he's been having comedy lessons. He's grown into a loveable bumbling old fool rather than an annoying old fart!

The dog feature was hilarious. The dog had actually been sitting on the desk, and afterwards Sissons said, "...and much to my relief, beautifully house trained!"

And today he made some comment about it being "tense at Anfield" after the sports headlines, and made a funny grimace! (When Liverpool were 1-0 down to West Ham). Sissons of course is a Scouser - was even in school with John Lennon, Jimmy Tarbuck and Bill Kenwright.

Hes certainly improved on the 5pm Hour.

Kate. Patchy, but good. Not a patch on Emily, but she's back next week. Got better as she got further in. Content was all a bit rubbish.

Not available on the AV console yet, but available as the podcast.

Poor show this week. Kate just doesnt have the flow. Its like shes just reading a script with no care in the world unless its about her. Im sure she will adapt though.

The only slightly funny thing was the beginning with Bill.

I really like Kate Silverton's approach to it- it's very different to Emily Maitlis but I think equally effective. Emily's got the deadpan approach, whereas Kate is more conversational. All she needs to do is pick up the pace of her reading a bit, to give it a bit more of 'Fix Zip' that we're used to.

But overall I still like- puts a smile on your face.

Why does Kate always talk about herself half of the programme, whenever she presents it?
