Just appeared on the BBC news website- a video amalgamation of all those weekend magazine type articles- "good week/bad week, 10 things we didn't know last week, memorable quotes, the week in numbers" etc. etc.

Don't know if this is new, certainly the first time I've seen it.

And it's fabulous- funny, well edited, good use of BBC news clips from the week, and well hosted by Emily Maitlis.

Should split into 1 minute short bursts and put on News 24 between hours on the weekend (when appropriate)- a beautiful frothy filler that's informative.

Go on laugh out loud- look on the BBC news front page or even easier click here (Opens Media Player)

Just watched it - fantastic! Well done BBC on this one - hopefully it will be a regular weekly feature. It might be a nice idea to run it on News 24 at the end of the '5' News Hour on a Friday with Carrie. (just before the viewer's countdown remix at the 18.00 TOTH)

Good work, a nice fast paced edit too.

that is *FAB*. They should have that on News 24 instead of the boring rubbish, like the news.

hahaha

This programme is rubbish and why is Emily Matliss now flavour of the month, she's hardly the best. They should concentrate on the quality of their news output, not MTv zippy camera work coupled with puerile summations of the news in a ten-second bursts.

"£7m the cost of a new sex themepark opening in London.....it has no rides"

"bad news for bats and owls"

"it's a bone"

"well it's been rough but no need to jump off the top of a tall building"

"it's a bone"

"bad week- finland's ambassador to UK forced to talk about heavy metal"

"sexless and seedless"

Genius. Seriously this should be broken up and played at xx.59 up to the top of the hour on weekends on News 24 (obviously not when there's such a tragic story as the main headline, but where appropriate).

It is new and *should* be a regular weekly thing - it's from some of the old team behind BBC Three News (can't you tell!).

Saw this earlier today; absolutely fantastic - well thought out and expertly executed. I was worried it was going to be patronising, but it was fab!

This should replace those god-awful daytime TV summaries on BBC 1!

Wonderful - should be put on News 24 as someone said.

Reminds me a lot of the daily "FastCast" on MLB.com - a quick roundup of the day's action....there could / should be a market for it over here

Short and sweet - I quite like it (but don't quite get the name, though).

Would it be too tricky to get the rights to all the footage to podcast it, a la Sky News Seven Days?
