Is there any reason why there is a separate sports presenter on the weekend evening news bulletins and not on any others (ie. the One, Six or Ten)?
I think this is a good idea, but does anyone know why we only see a BBC Sport presenter on mainstream news at weekends?
There used to be a sports presenter on Friday's Six when Ms Bruce presented - they kept it when it went back to dual pres in 2003, but dropped it last year, I think.
I think it's mostly to do with the simple fact that most sport news is generated at the weekend (ie football etc) and it probably makes more sense to have someone there who's dedicated to the sport so they can be across results that have been coming in throughout the day...
