Sorry about the quality, it's captured from the online feed.

As you can see south today have tried a new look again following the nationals relaunch. Only its auful, seriously, teal/green/blue boxes where little TV's used to be, a huge rubbish round desk.. thing.. and a News 24 style screen... What is going on. The colour look auful on screen, red, white, teal, cream...

God that's terrible. One big desk and only two different colours, red and white, thats the way.

I think they are just milking that studio set, it's needs a total redesign, not just a lick of paint and some new furniture. It doesn't work I'm afraid.

I quite agree. That set looked awful to begin with - that "window" on the newroom is so incredibly fake that I can't believe anyone could possibly believe it was real. Plus the cream colour of the walls has long disappeared from BBC News presentation, and really ought to be removed. It's definitely time for a complete overhaul of the set, not just a re-dressing.

No other thread around so this 'll do

Alina jenkins left south today for the last time today .I don't know what she's doing next but i doubt it's a return to dancing on a liner .

She said on BBC Southern Counties Radio (which she also left today) that she is spending time with her family but she would still be around (on radio, not sure about TV) to cover holidays etc.

Anyone know if she got a good farewell on the programme?

Agreed - a bad makeover.
Just thank your lucky stars that you do not have Reporting Scotland as your BBC News show. It is even worse and at least you have titles that are not nearing their seventh birthday!
Ann Maurice if you read this message - please help the BBC!!!

Those blue squares remind me of one of the sets in Blake's 7.

And that was made in 1978 Laughing

Yes...it was more than a good farewell - they almost gave over half the programme to it! It was quite surprising - I'm not usually a South Today watcher, living in the BBC London area, but I happened to catch this edition.

First the presenter talked to her for a few minutes about how she felt about leaving, and they played her a 3-minute "best bits" package (Big Brother stylee); then she went to present her last weather forecast, before returning to the sofa to talk some more; then they got the sport presenter over and gave her flowers, then *sharp intake of breath* the presenter read out a raft of e-mails and phone calls members of the public had made about her. It just seemed to go on and on and on! They would never make such a fuss here in London! It must have been a slow news for the South. Though, I imagine, that's probably not that out of the ordinary!

Could you please stop putting line breaks in sentences? It makes
them
difficult
to
read.

Thank you.
