This image (sorry 56k'ers) shows a comparison of studio, logos and graphics from both News 24 and Sky News going back to 1997-1998 to the Present.

It re-affirms my belief, that Both the Sky News and BBC News 24 early looks were fresher and more lively, and whilst the early strap/aston graphics were not great, the colours were better, the full-screens nicer, and a whole lot friendlier!

I thought I would share it with you all, as it can be used as guidance for mocks, a bit of nostalgia, provoker of discussion, or just as a reference guide when working on new or recreating old designs...

I miss the days of the multi-colours of BBC News 24. And I miss the logo and colours from 1998-2001 of Sky News.

I especially like the window graphic with BBC News written on it, in the shot with TV Forum's NickyS presenting

I have updated the graphics to include ITN News channel - News at ten 2008 graphics...

Not really to do with the graphics, but I love that first ITN News Channel set, remembering it's quite a few years ago, its very modern.

Certainly agree with you mdta that News 24 was at it's freshest when it launched.

Not so sure about my favourite Sky News era - it's never quite been right. If I had to choose though, I would say the 2005 relaunch and I think they made a mistake in undoing it as quickly as they did.

Always loved the look of the ITN News Channel, though ITV's look at the time wasn't so great. The 2004 relaunch though was very fresh and modern, but the update in 2006 did it no favours.

Seeing News at Ten there though - without the titles - shows how great ITV News could look again if they took the graphical ideas from News at Ten and used them across their other bulletins.

Have you got more from the ITN News Channel please - I've not seen many of them caps before.

'fraid not, I spent hours just trying to find those.
