BBC Scotland News Special

Following the PM's statement at 8pm earlier tonight, in Scotland the First Minister made her own statement. This was covered on BBC One Scotland and the BBC Scotland channel.



There then followed a BBC Scotland News Special, shown on the same channels. It was presented by Rebecca Curran and Martin Geissler from The Nine. Surprisingly, it also had it's own titles, graphics and music.

Always nice when they do something different but that logo seems to break every branding convention going, and not in a good way.

Everything else is quite nice though.

It is a pretty ugly logo.

It’s nice that they went to the effort of this but it just seems a bit pointless it was only a 20 minute broadcast(roughly)

That particular branding has been used for any special programmes that have come from the Nine set over the last few months I believe, it wasn't made just for last night... though I agree I could be better if aligned more closely to the main brand, even just with red replacing the orange.

There was one following the last Ministerial Broadcast too.

The titles, graphics and music were the same ones used for 'Coronavirus: Scotland's Response' - a weekly program produced by 'The Nine' team which aired on BBC One Scotland during the first few months of the pandemic
