!), Sportscene Scotland has the cool Kruze chairs that fits in with the set, yet every other programme shoves in some sort of crap belonging in a small reception, ranging from a low slung straight red sofa, to crap one piece chrome frame chairs.

The Kruze chairs fit in with Reporting Scotland though, as the all leather ones are used in NBH Studio B IIRC. Possibly not with Sunday Politics but Scotland 2014 is such an ugly mish-mash that anything would fit, but the Kruze chairs fits the studio however it is lit.
They use the 'cool' kruze chairs as that's on brand with network football productions. It's not on brand with the Sunday Politics and perhaps they don't think they give the right feel to Scotland 2014.

I've noticed that the UK weather has disappeared after the 10.25 RS bulletin - is this across all regions or just the nations or specific to Scotland ( although I seem to remember NI stopped showing it a while back )?

Just the nations. Wales joined NI sometime last year, just before or around the time the English regions weather presenters started handing over directly to the national weather from the regional - Scotland has only started dropping the national weather relatively recently I believe. Stupid idea in my opinion - that nightly national forecast is usually one of the most informative.
