There's also a Jib in there which answers some users previous questions. Should get some nice stuff.

Looks a bit like they've moved the desk rostrum a bit.

Underslung I see, which I assume means more extreme low angle starts for a move and more talking to the jib?

To be honest I'm not surprised, it's nicer to drift over foreground bits of set or similar than it is to get the extra height and use a lighting grid as foreground. Breakfast only do it that way because they're so limited in space.

Blowing my own trumpet, here's a good video of our jib showing how good low passing foreground can look. (Not my own video, but is my own jib)

Suppose so, AutoCue or small LCD below lens? Will RS get a titles remix and cut ala the NC? They have a massive and beautiful (in some aspects) atrium and it would be a missed chance if they didn't think of it. Any idea where the old desk etc is going? Also is the newsroom set updated?

The lack of one indicates how they plan to likely use the jib, establishers and wides, rather than PTCs, not that a presenter can't memorise a line and do it to the jib.

What would you prefer if you had to use a teleprompter on a jib?

Depends on the rig really, autocues are a pain in the arse on a jib, makes the camera very very front heavy. Harder still with studio cameras because they're front heavy anyway (lack of recording mechanism compared to ENG.) The size also then limits pan tilt range, the few times it's been done it's still under-slung though.

Edit: Although I see that ITN (ITV News) use their overslung with prompter, free-d so its obviously possible. Check out mattjf on twitter to see it in action.

Are they going to make the cameras automatic in Scotland?

They were already robotic peds, and IIRC they were controlled via joystick mostly with only a few shots stored such as the shot for the roundup using the CSO and the weather,

Just tuned in to Sportscene, the lighting under the soft area rostrum really gives it height and make everything look taller. So far the set doesn't look as tacky, plastic-y, toyish and terribly shiny as the Wales Today version. Unimpressed that the camera didn't go for a massive wide shot at the end. Also, regarding a GMT style shot, they did a simlar shot for standup pres at the screen.
