Love it.

Looks so much better. The titles I suspect will be given the Wales Today treatment.

That looks really really good. About 7 Billion times better than the old set. Interesting bits of moving set and a touch screen.

The current set is tired and dated imo.

Even the BBC called the set tired and dated in their new article

Quote:
Both with their impressively futuristic-looking studios. In juxtaposition with our Scottish output, Studio C at Pacific Quay was in danger of looking a bit dated. So, with a big year ahead of them, the bosses here decided now was the ideal time to bring the visual look of their flagship news and sports programmes up-to-date

I think the new set looks amazing... Much better than the current one.

Surprised to see that the Glasgow-centric Squinty Bridge backdrop is being retained, plus addition Clyde-side images such as the Armadillo.

So the other side will be used by Sunday politics, Newsnight and Sportsceen.

Glad to see whoever lights RS has had the brains to light the central column of the desk red. Looks totally stupid and generic when it is lit in that off white/grey/sometimes really light blue colour in London.

EDIT: Set looks brilliant. Other than the central column lighting, the only other thing I have my fingers crossed for is that the modesty panels are lined up correctly when there are no guests. Wonder if RS will go all Wales Today with standup openings?

A real shame how genericness has made such occassions rather boring now. Also think that set has dated pretty badly before it airs - the screens really are a step back IMO while the set just has no wow factor at all. Simple doesn't have to mean dull.
