Couldn't help notice tonight that when North West Tonight were covering the story about Johnny Mad Dog Adair coming to Bolton they had a Live link with some reporter from BBC Newsline and on BBC Newsline they had a Live link with Stuart Flinders in Manchester, interesting to see how all of the presenters and reporters were exchanging actions, as Stuart Flinders was explaining the situation in Bolton not being as violent as Northern Ireland, where as Gordon Burns was asking the BBC NI reporter how things faired over there.
They did this a few weeks ago, but they shared a report with Wales Today, which was shown on both programmes.
Anyone know of any other examples for other regions?
Tyne Tees TV occasionally shares reports with Border. I can't say for YTV though, I imagine they have though, since North Yorkshire is a grey area between the two stations.
It happens all the time, it really isn't anything unusual ...
Maybe on ITV, but not on the BBC for us, there are usually very few stories that are shared across the borders of our region, though you do get a lot of Live links to other regions. But actually happened to notice this tonight and was able to switch over to the BBC1 Nations via NTL.
Midlands Today have/had a Points West reporter providing reports occasionally for the Gloucester area. (Graham Gardener was the regular at one point. Did MT do the same for Points West ?)

Yes, they do. There's also crossover for Swindon (between the Oxford opt and Points West) and Exmoor for Points West and Spotlight.
South Today and BBC London occasionally share reports. An example I can remember was a story about commuters on the Brighton to London line, who refused to comply with the no smoking ban on the trains.
Look East have traditionally provided reports for (or taken them from) East Midlands Today and Newsroom South East / BBC London.
Nothing new in it - sometimes they get versioned with the reporter filing a separate pay-off for the other region. (So you might hear "Kim Riley, BBC London News" or "Sally Chidzoy, BBC East Midlands Today" rather than the normal "BBC Look East" sign off)
It was certainly common for EMT and LE to share reports in the mid-90s.
Clinton Rogers (Chief Somerset Reporter) is the obvious one for crossover between Points West and Spotlight.
I'm always amused, however, that he only ever seems to record one out-cue on his pieces, that being for Points West.
Every time Spotlight use his reports they chop him off immediately before he utters his out-cue.
Graham Gardener, in Gloucestershire, is the equivalent between Points West and Midlands Today.
It's not usually anything malicious - it's often just that the neighbouring region requests a piece after it's been finished, so consequently a specific sign-off hasn't been recorded.
