Quite sad that Dave Guest is leaving, he's been there for as long as I can remember.

Stuart and Dave are the only ones I remember from when I started watching nwt. Hopefully Roger and annabel get to contue to job share.

I don’t know if it’s just coincidence, but both Harry Gration and Hamish Marshall are being let go by the BBC and they’re both reporters on Final Score...

Harry Gration hasn't been on Final Score for ages, at least about five years.

Not being a football fan, I didn't realise he (Harry) used to present the programme until I watched his farewell montage

It wouldn't surprise me if one of his (and Hamish's) retirement odd-jobs will be to attend matches, and do Final Score reports ?

Presumably Final Score just make use of their regional sports teams, both from news and radio.

They do and they don't

Harry Gration used to pop up every now and then but like said above, he hasn't done for years

Tony Husband works for one of the regions as well doesn't he?

I know that latterly Harry used to pop up during the Olympics commentating on a relatively obscure sport on a red button channel, but in years gone by was a bit of a relief presenter on regular BBC Sport output

They said that he sometimes hosted Grandstand and allegedly even once presented Match of the Day?

Regional, Freelancers and some odd names. I remember Jake Humphrey doing some commentary for Final Score before he joined as a presenter, when he had been on CBBC earlier that morning.

Mark Shardlow has announced he’s leaving East Midlands today alone with Dom Heale, saying specifically he’s joining the freelance world, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he turned up more often on Final Score and/or EFL on Quest

Yes, Final Score and the equivalents across TV and radio will make use of any stringers they can get their hands on. Kieran Prendiville used to be a familiar voice in the 80s while he was also presenting Tomorrow's World, for many years BBC Radio used Bill Bothwell whose day job was as chairman of Tranmere Rovers and Frank Bough made his TV debut doing match reports while still working full-time for ICI. Anyone's who happy to go off to a football ground for a couple of hundred quid and expenses is more than welcome, I'm sure.

In other news, last night saw Brenda Emmanus filing her last report for BBC London after twenty years.

That's how Harry Gration got his foot in the door at the BBC, doing football reports for Radio Leeds while still working as a teacher.

We know what that announcement means
