It’s still Sunday Politics in Northern Ireland!

*has flashbacks of Newsline taking forever to get fully Reithed*

Is there some sort of filter/forcefield located in the middle of the Irish Sea, which inhibits BBC rebranding from making it across in time?!

Elizabeth Glinka gets the 'politics midlands' gig, leaving Newsnight in the process.

Presumably the image in that Tweet is from during the recording of the first episode?

Do all of the BBC English Regions record their Sunday morning politic programmes on Friday afternoons? I can imagine London being a possible exception.

I also assume that the Nations' versions are live on Sunday mornings (?).

I think most, if not all the regions are recorded every week, but occasionally they might go live according to need. The nations are live though

I don't know why London would be an exception, they have the same issues with crewing as other regions, it might be different if there was more of a gap between Marr and Politics London

Samantha Simmonds will be presenting Politics London

Good presenter but no politics background I'm aware of

She does have pedigree with BBC London, being a former reporter for the regional news bulletin.

The dodgy Twitter profile pic of Politics Midlands was explained at the very start of the programme.

It’s the underside of the Politics Midlands mugs. Which have all been made in Stoke-on-Trent.

And here’s a tweet with a selection of all the backdrops:

I think it is done live during elections and when big news breaks, I would think it would be good to extend them to 45 mins to include a news update and do them live every week 15 mins of regional news & 30 mins of politics .

Politics Midlands included an explanation for their basic-looking Twitter profile picture.

It is the underside of Politics Midlands-branded drinks mugs, made by a Staffordshire pottery company!
