I prefer Anglia News over Look East. I guess you just watch what your happy with. Normaly on Anglia News its 10mins or so of News, Weather update t hing, Closer to Home, In other news..., Sport, Light story, End.
Look Hull gets 29% Calendar gets 22% even after the new service launched in January. The market research indicates is not that popular and is too Sheffield based.
Where are these figures from?
BARB does not break Yorkshire into it's sub regions.
Overall Calendars viewing numbers are up and often beating LN.
I live in Northern Ireland and I prefer BBC Newsline to UTV Live News.
UTV have a newshour with news and lifestyle at 5:30 followed by news at six. UTV have always liked the Newshour approach and when ITV News changed their times in 1999 UTV have always looked like they could never adapt.
Thats why they opt out constantly from the ITV network shows. Thats why I like BBC better, they are concise and have a much better approach to news than UTV.
If UTV got rid of their 5:30pm "lifestyle news" slot then I would begin to enjoy it. Maybe?

And replace it with Northern Irelands ratings winner "supermarket sweep", (not that its been show on UTV since it came back).
UTV Live at 5:30 gets the viewing figures that Crossroads, Price is right, Planets funniest animals etc etc don’t get at 5:30. That’s why I imagine UTV have the news hour.
I much prefer North Tonight over Reporting Scotland, maybe because there seems to be less sport in the former, the presenters of NT seem far less trying to be celebrity like, and with NT's opt outs for Tayside / NE Fife, the news seems far more relevant than RS, which still has a Glasgow bias.
Im not keen On BBc London News, due to their awful presenters and lack of news from Greater London.
But I dont like London Tonight because its not news much, mainly showbiz and competitions.
So If I had to pick one obn pain of death I would prefer to watch London Tonight 'cos at least they have a few beauties there..... Tamsin Syvlester and Katie Derham.
At the end of
BBC East Midlands
today, there's a note saying: "The most watched news programme in the East Midlands". Sadly not surprising, although I think
Calendar
is better than EMT!
I would be amazed if Westcountry Live gets more viewers compared to Spotlight- but i would guess there must have been a point mid 90's when Westcountry Live was an hour long it could have beaten it. Now ITV news just appears to be a bit of news, then competition then weather, top story repeated then back to London.

Exactly.
I've not watched Westcountry Live with any urgency since the Boscastle floods.
Look North and Tyne Tees tend to get much the same audience. It swings around a bit, but generally Tyne Tees have been beating them recently. In Scotland, Reporting Scotland generally beats STV North and Central (BARB breaks it down to those two regions, excluding Border) However, there are times when STV records massive peaks. Even though BBC Scot beats it it still records excellent viewing figures. Border gets a great audience share too and Meridian occasionally does ok. Generally the rest of the ITVs struggle compared to their BBC rivals.

Look North ULL is about 7% ahead regularly - sadly. The figures are accurate and well sourced. It is possible to work out figures acceptable to all broadcasting parties involved for the Belmont area.
The Audience appreciation research is showing that despite initial concern Calendar East/South has not had the impact that ITV were looking for. It seems as it is considered too Sheffield centred.
Strange they have chosen to change the picture to Hull following this.

Where are the figures for the Belmont area listed please? I'd like to see them. As for the picture changing? Perhaps it has more to do with the lighter evenings - I guess the backgrounds for North and South programmes are on tape and not live - it would look pretty daft having a dark outside scene as we enter spring. I doubt also that a Hull backdrop will gain viewers, TV viewers are not so stupid that they watch telly because a virtual window shows their city.
