It looks a bit silly for the Channel Islands who, without a distinct programme name, have just 'Channel Islands' plonked in big text. At least London, who have a similar problem, use a BBC logo above to solve the problem, and give an actual name that flows. Would have been much better to do that, or just use its other name, 'Channel Island News'.

Think of ITV on the Channel Islands and their news title - ITV News Channel TV - I mean, didn't anyone at ITV not realise the stupidity of that name. ITV News London okay, ITV News Channel makes people think their 24 hour news channel is back.

I concur.

"ITV News Channel Islands " would surely be the only sensible sounding option.

Or "ITV News Channel Report"

Can't understand why they didn't use this name, given that it was previously called Channel Report.

I'm already assuming that this latest reassertion of totally uniformity across the English Regions will start to drift apart within a couple of years or so (as always), due to the usual "fiefdom" syndrome.

Have I missed something? Has BBC News annexed the Channel Islands?

Who calls the shots on a decision to update the titles of a BBC local news programme... is it local editors/managers?

I'm guessing the new look (i.e. with Reith) across all regions will have been imposed upon them by a network manager?

Can we get a TVF sweepstake going on the first region to break away from the unified look?
