The NWT titles this lunchtime were definitely the best of the bunch. Using drone shots exclusively looks much better than the mishmash of drone shots and people awkwardly getting up to things that other regions have used. These nightime versions are even better.
The North West ones also have a different list of places with each shot (one for each county plus IOM). An attention to detail I’ve not seen on the other regions which have the same list of places on the ring throughout.
A night time version of NWT’s titles just tweeted by Roger Johnson
For the first time since 2011, @BBCNWT gets a makeover on TV tonight. New titles, graphics and stings. Lots of them too. Here's a taster with the main night time titles. How many iconic NW locations do you recognise? pic.twitter.com/nesWfEyLIa

Lovely. As I posted the other day, North West Tonight really go the full mile when they update their titles/graphics. It helps that they have more up to date tech than most regions of course!
There was a little report on North West Tonight about the new look too, with some possible shots for the titles not seen yet: as well as why they chose the shots they did.

As far as I could see, all the regions and nations have introduced the new headline captions at the start of the evening bulletin.... apart from the main South Today region. What makes it even odder is that the Oxford Opt has them. Not sure whether it was an editorial choice or they haven't got them quite ready. Hopefully the latter as I think they look pretty good.
Although there's several animations of the headline graphics on the go due to the vast differences in kit being used, I think they all work quite nicely to be fair.

Oooh, I'm a quite fan of the refreshed look for the English Regions - a nice update to the South East Today theme and the titles look nice to boot. Most importantly though, we wave farewell to the half baked mocks that some of the regions had been using!
Then again, Wales Today seem to have decided to take up the baton and have debuted some hideous new titles, a poor recreation of what they had before... Suppose we can't have everything!

Not sure what to make of the new theme music, seems to end a bit abruptly and suffers from the fact that the previous 100 remixes of the same tune have already been used by various BBC News outlets before,
Quite. After two decades of David Lowe's various "drumbeat & pips" themes, it's difficult to get very enthused about the 947th iteration/reworking thereof.
This "new" theme music across all English Regions is actually the version that South East Today has been using since its last refresh a few years back (I think). Of the hotchpotch of different David Lowe themes that were being used across England until yesterday, I never considered the SET one worthy of being rolled out elsewhere.

Must be Spotlight then.
Yes, it's the Minack Theatre in Cornwall, somewhere I've been many times.

Agreed!
I thought either the one previously used by NWT was brilliant, as was the Spotlight theme. Reporting Scotland Elections had a nod to history as well, would have loved to have seen a rewormed version of that.
