True, and Antiques Roadshow must film around 20 weeks of the year too. Personally I do think it will be the catalyst for a bit of a shake up with the BBC One presenting line up.

I think Fiona will continue to present in the short term but that she will be replaced as part of bigger changes in the medium to long term when it is more appropriate for the BBC to do so. That being said I think Fiona will mainly present on Mondays and Tuesdays with Sophie (and Clive, Reeta and Jane) doing more towards the end of the week.

Peter Sissons presented QT and the News for five years, I'm sure Fiona will be able to manage both. If anything, I think she's more like to give up Antiques Roadshow

In saying that, I think a change will happen in scheduling soon. Sadly, I can't see George Alagiah returning with all his cancer issues, and this will trigger a change. I could see Fiona and Sophie taking the lead on the 6, (similar to the Buerk/Sissons situation with the 9 in the 90s), and one of Clive or Reeta taking over as deputy on the 10, but that's just me and someone is no doubt going to shout this down.

Clive is probably on the 10 more often than Fiona now anyway.

I can't see there being any kind of Rota shake up on BBC News to be honest. I think now it's just a case of whoever's available and when. Huw and Fiona aside, all of the other BBC One regulars (Sophie, Jane, Reeta, Clive, Ben) seem to share the main BBC One bulletins between them.

Also Simon, Kate and Mishal (and occasionally Tina).
I also imagine Christian Fraser will be seen on a BBC one bulletin in the next few years.

Christian Fraser did the Saturday night bulletins one weekend about a year ago. Surprised they've never asked him since.

I think that is why it needs tidying up. Obviously George's absence has taken away one of their main evening anchors and they'd probably be reluctant to make changes until his future with the BBC is confirmed.

Not naming any names, but some people will always be fill-ins rather than the main anchors. When a permanent position comes up, I doubt any of the names mentioned will be who fill it. If it was any time soon, I’d guess Tina Daheley would be in the frame for the 1 or 6, but who’s in favour changes pretty frequently.

I think he did Christmas day lunchtime in 2017 as well. I could see him fitting in well on Breakfast.

Lunchtimes at the weekend and during holidays don’t really count as it’s just the duty News Channel presenter. None of them can really be described as a network news presenter.

Hurrah! They decided to turn up Fiona's microphone a bit this week!

I had my misgivings when I heard Fiona got the job, but she’s proved me wrong, some how the programme seems much better since she took over, it seems much tighter and it flows better, she links the points together and gets panelist’s involved at the right times, not just rigidly picking the next one because it’s their turn.
