Jeremy Corbyn would impose a limit of £400,000 on BBC salaries if he ever gets into power. Not sure all of the lefties (including Gary Linekar) would be tweeting support for Labour if they knew that!
Seriously what age are you?

Oh for goodness sake, it was a light hearted remark. No need to get highly strung over it, is there?
And completely missing the point that we have entered Summer Holiday season where most of the senior news broadcasters will be taking their holidays between now and the start of September.

I wouldn't bother paying much attention to Daily Mail articles on it, as naturally they're having a field day and not lettings facts get in the way of article views. The latest daft article/headline is the suggestion that it's a coincidence that Charlie (not on the list) & Naga (on the list) are presenting Breakfast today, despite them normally presenting Wednesdays to Saturdays.
Gottago - I was thinking the "work" they do compared to any other job, which is the theme going around now today. Three weeks in the jungle, looked after and living in the lap pf luxury whilst hosting a few trials and live shows, not too bad, compared to an overworked nurse trying to earn a living on a 50 hour week in many cases.
Yeah, TV shows are just thrown together the night before broadcast over a pint. No planning or pre-production goes into it at all. No months, nor even years of graft goes into it. Dec and Ant aren't involved in any of the executive production at any stage. They just turn up, grab the nearest mic and put on the best geordie accent they can muster. They're actually both from Middlesex you see and were helicoptered into their high-salary jobs by a nepotistic uncle.

Ant and Dec - 30m over 3 years, that's about 5m a year. The BBC don't really have a big entertainment star at the moment, the closest is Graham Norton and of course what he earns is not included, so we don't know how big the BBC to commercial gap would be. Not relevant though as ITV are a commercial company and can use their money however they like.
Yesterday's news is a very minor discomfort compared to what positives they receive being the national broadcaster with no adverts, no commercial pressures etc.
Huw isn't on holiday, he is fulfilling one of his other BBC roles, filming a documentary about the Welsh mountains looking at his Twitter feed.
Despite being a Murdoch publication, I've always found The Times to be generally quite fair, however even they are going a bit bananas over this stuff - with a whole story on the "secrecy loophole" which means salaries of presenters used by the independent production companies aren't revealed. They even hint that "dozens more shows" will be transferred to BBC Studios for this reason, completely failing to highlight the actual reason = opening up BBC commissioning to commercial tendering.
The BBC have missed a trick with this announcement, they should have quantified the number of contracts each individual is employed for
Vine for example has three clear strands - R2, Elections and Eggheads
Mayo - R2 and 5L Wittertainment
The casual observer not being made aware of these multiple roles.
Would Eggheads be included? Isn't it made by an indie? Bit like Dimbleby not being on the list, who earns a reported £15K a show for Question Time. He'd be right up there.
It was claimed Eggheads was included on his Radio 2 show yesterday.
Just guesswork, but I would imagine it depends on specific contracts. Eggheads may be included because it's covered by his BBC contract. He may be a BBC staffer who is exclusive to the BBC, regardless of who produces the programmes on which he appears.

Amjol Rajan said on the radio yesterday that next year he will be on the list.
I've seen several conversations on Sky News and also read a few articles which make a big deal out of the fact that Fiona earns less than Hew, saying she is his ''co-presenter'' and one commentator even saying ''the person that sits next to you''. I wonder if these people ever really watch News at 10, enough to notice it's a single headed bulletin and that Fiona only does Fridays and fills in. I assume most of her pay comes from her Antique show.
