I've seen several conversations on Sky News and also read a few articles which make a big deal out of the fact that Fiona earns less than Hew, saying she is his ''co-presenter'' and one commentator even saying ''the person that sits next to you''. I wonder if these people ever really watch News at 10, enough to notice it's a single headed bulletin and that Fiona only does Fridays and fills in. I assume most of her pay comes from her Antique show.
And the fact that George Alagiah earns less than her, didn't see anyone mention that gender pay gap - funny that.
Amjol Rajan said on the radio yesterday that next year he will be on the list.
Yeah, I heard that too. Apprarently, Anita Agarwal will be as well.

There are only two people on that list, that makes you wonder why so much? Chris Evans and Graham norton, there both get paid alot of money, but neither of that sums include the commercial side like the talk show or Top gear. Why are there both paid that much? Graham is what part time radio show and Eurovison. I do not count those half bake saturday night shows are justifiable for those costs.
Jeremy Vine is a weird one, Radio 2 show, Pov, Eggheads, , Panorama and crimewatch.
Emily Maitlis is currently out of contract with the BBC, the current row over pay must put her in a strong position. RadioTimes makes it sound like Emily will look at offers from elsewhere, I wonder if ITV would try and make her an offer? I can't think of any positions that ITV News have vacant though.

If they've let her contract lapse in the first place that suggests that they no longer want her.

This post, and indeed much of the entire thread, clearly demonstrates the problem of publishing this pay information. There is no context, it leads to speculation about contract details with no way of knowing what the details are for sure, it's intrusive, it's creepy in many cases.
Perhaps there is room for this kind of talk - but I don't think it is the public's role, a public becoming increasingly instantaneous and decreasingly considered in its response to all kinds of news stories and information. Perhaps some independent pay commission or something needs to be set up - I don't know, but it is not my role to know.

Evans' might include Top Gear. The reporting I've seen said that Worldwide pays for Matt LeBlanc, which you'd expect as he's the big worldwide name. But that doesn't necessarily mean that Evans was too. I suspect that fee includes Top Gear and a bit of One Show pay.
Even if not he presents the most popular radio show in Europe, that's not something you pay someone cheaply for. I read somewhere it works out at 20p a listener. Thing is that there's no equivalent in the commercial sector to compare his pay to. There's only a few national commercial breakfast presenters and only one is on a national FM station. I imagine someone like Christian oConnell, Chris Moyles or Jamie Theakston will be highly paid, but for a smaller fraction of Evans audience

You might not count them but the people paying the wages and yesterdays list does
As predicted commercial sensitivities will be used to remove much of the sting from this happening again. It just leaves BBC news & Childrens which are outside the commercial division.

The BBC News article yesterday said it didn't include Top Gear.
I'd say his rather large fee for his radio station suggests he will have been offered some very sizeable offers from commercial stations in the past and the BBC's had to bump up his contract appropriately.

But still that just seems alot for doing a breakfast show. Ken bruce and Steve Wright also seem a tad high.
Emily Maitlis will most likely get pushed up to £200'000 but still some of these people just seem to be overpaid, especial Graham Norton.
