According to "TV Ark" - "Points West probably has the one of best looks out of all the regions. The set still looks clean, bright and very white... perfect for the new corporate look based on white."

What do you think?

I do think they need a change now but its has changed a lot since it was first introduced in 2004. Bring back Susan Osman too!

Have to say that that set looks a little old now. Perhaps the TV Ark write up was a while ago?

OK I am biased, but you can't beat Look North Y & L look at the moment - now that is fresh looking - albeit very corporate!

Someone tell Midlands Today to sort their set out - it's horrid.

I like the sofa but it doesn't suit the desk like the Points West one.

Although it does look very nice, Scott93, I don't think you can beat the Spotlight set in Plymouth. Of course they have the good fortune to have one of the largest regional studios at their disposal, and some nifty wide-angle camera work makes it look even bigger!

They've managed to refresh it quite often with a lick of paint here and there over the years, and recently refurbished half the studio quite effectively (although I wasn't originally a fan of the pick-and-mix approach - but it's grown on me since February).

And to illustrate the diversity of the set (which no doubt is common in all regions), this is how it is dressed for the Politics Show on Sunday afternoons:

I liked Points West's set in the earlier days, especially the wall to the right with the red and black squares. I do still like it but I prefer the North West Tonight set, looks more inkeeping with the Nationals design, and especially better in red.

BBC NE&C is by far the worst, still using a 1999 wooden desk.

I like the Look North Hull set that was introduced a few months back...the newsroom in the background is surprisingly realistic.

Regarding Points West, I think TVARK was referring to this part of the set:

It does look brand new. Perhaps they just need a refit like Spotlight.

What about South Today? Surely they need a new set by now!

Why, have the viewing figures dropped, and how would a new set improve them ?

With the shambles that Meridian News is now, I doubt there's much wrong with South Today that needs fixing ?

It was second hand when they got it! That used to be the BBC Three "60 Seconds" set, modelled here by our own NickyS

I know it is brand new, I was just saying that for the age of the set, it looks modern.
