There's a more obvious issue. If you look on the day shot you can see two large chunks of building cladding that overlap the top part of the windows each side. In the night shot they have gone.

I did spot that, just worded it badly Laughing

The first two have the outside windows obscured (second one most obivously), but there's no sign of this at all in the third.

I'll ask what the story is next time I'm over there, but I'm 99% sure the window is real.

Cool. It looks real in the daytime photos, but not in the evening ones. Looking closer at the HD version of the preview on YouTube, the close ups don't look real. I was wondering if perhaps they have some sort of blinds or panels in front of the actual windows in the night shots.

Thanks for that info, Bvsh House.

On a seperate note, I find it interesting that they've got their own version of Click, including a very slightly modified version of the English title sequence; I think I may also have spotted a HARDtalk-type programme in their, although not speaking Persian/Farsi/Whatever, I have no idea if I'm right or not.

The backdrop is a real image during the day but at night is blinds which is semi-transparent which allows you to see some of the lights from moving cars (Very similar to what is used in all over bus-advertising - where you can still see out of the windows).

Apart from the phone-in show there are many programmes which use the video wall such as the youth and film shows - just look at how a change in camera angles and lighting makes it look so different.

There is now a barker showing.

Interesting, what was wrong with the real night view? Or is it to stop the glare from studio lights reflecting off the glass?

The view of All Souls Church looks quite different on the blinds, it seems much further away than it actually is.

I'd guess it was a contrast issue too, for example the buildings wouldn't be very lit up, therefore a dull background.... with a bit of photoshop thats not a problem!

I can't remember the full list of programmes. Since they are all in the promo I don't see any problem in listing the ones I do remember:

News bulletins of varying durations during tx hours.
- Due to the time difference in Tehran being +3.5 hours their TOTH is actually at the bottom of the hour from our perspective.
60 Minutes - Main Newshour style bulletin of the day
Click - As BBC News, they have staff embedded in the Click team to produce the Persian one in parallel.
Interactive - Similar format to Talking Point on BBC Arabic
Tune - Music programming, bigger version of the 7th Night webcasts that were produced for the internet last year.
Behzad Meets - Behzad (presenter of Tune) spends the day with a Persian celebrity.
Reporters - same format as BBC World News I think.
Page 2 - Politics programme
Hardtalk / Profiles - alternates each week between the two.
Arts programming - There are three programmes that rotate between the slot each week. One is the film review programme, the others I don't remember.
Documentaries - Some bought in from BBC Worldwide, others produced by Persian directors. These cover a wide spectrum - natural world, music, history, education, just about anything really. None have internet rights though, so you'll only see them via satellite.

I probably have missed a couple out as I'm doing it all from memory. There is one that I have deliberatly missed out as I've not seen it in the promos, so I don't know if it is public knowledge yet. It's a programme brought in from the BBC and I have no idea whether it will be dubbed or subtitled, and there are no internet rights so most of you may never get to see it in its Persian form. But it is one of the BBC's most popular exports and BBC Persian have made a very good decision in scheduling it.

The full TV schedule, programme pages and media asset pages are due to be published at bbcpersian.com/tv on Monday. The watch live links should also go up then.

Thanks, mystery solved then. Just a bit strange the cladding also apparently disappears too.

This wil be replaced with a promo loop at 09:00 on Tuesday morning. I'm told the loop wil be 6 minutes long, so it sounds like the loop currently in circulation online. It's not been sent over yet so I've not been able to check.

With the Arabic launch, the output of BH was not switched to air until a few minutes before the launch. Persian have requested the switch take place much earlier in the day, so they have the option to play out a different set of trails and promos in the run up to the launch at 13:30 GMT.

Last time I checked it was broadcasting plain old 1Khz -18dBFS line up tone. Changing it to something else would be a bit more friendly on the ears I suppose.

The barker graphic is being played out from the Network Ops centre at Bush House at present. The launch promo will no doubt follow soon.

The audio loop is indeed from the news package. I'm told the audio will carry the daily Farsi radio programmes at 2.30am and 4pm in the run up to launch.

As has been said, don't expect to see much of the non-news content online once the channel launches - the web feed will change to a ticker as hardly any of it is rights cleared for streaming.

Certain reversioning will be very interesting indeed Wink
