Hmmm, Sky's EPG indicating that it is indeed one of the Election 74 broadcasts, but not specifying which one. I agree the second one of that year is more likely, as the first one was last shown only three months ago.
A repeat for the first one is more logical in my eyes as it was the one that led to a hung parliament, rather than the one that resulted in a (very) small majority for Labour in October 74.
It makes for fascinating viewing. Also back then it wasn't known as a hung Parliament. It wasn't until just before the next Election in 1974 that Simon Hoggart of The Guardian coined the phrase hung Parliament.
Thoroughly enjoying this re-rum today, even though I think this is it's third transmission,
I only caught it for about 20 minutes earlier on this evening, but agree with you it was very interesting to watch. The bit I caught was from about 12.45pm on the result day and the Liberals having a moan on PR... how times change!
Someone's put 20p in the slot and got the lights going in studio MB1 for coverage of the election of the speaker - Daniel Brittan presiding, Betty Boothroyd in the chair, and a couple of other guests too.
They've mentioned that they'll be back tomorrow at 3pm for coverage of the Speaker's approbation in the Lords, though there's no mention in the schedule at present.
