Great to see how the French are covering the presidential elections on TV. Anyone know who the feed they are showing is from?

I'll post some caps of the studio/graphics soon (and if anyone is interested).

The coverage is only scheduled to last until 2030 on the channel.

It's France2's feed.

You can also see coverage on France 24.

This is either very brave tv, or very lazy tv. Regardless, I think it's great.

Why shouldn't they show material from other countries?

Do they still show that C-SPAN thing on Sundays from Yankee land?

They do, but to be fair, that's in English!

Although I must say I have enjoyed the coverage, my GCSE French is all coming flooding back!

America's C-SPAN, the U.S. equivalent of BBC Parliament, frequently airs foreign newscasts and election coverage. It's often fascinating to see how major stories are covered by broadcasters from various countries. In 1999, for instance, the channel aired Serbian televison news during the Kosovo crisis. Having said that, there's always a live interpreter translating the coverage. What is the point of all this if there's no translation? (Leaving presentation fans aside Very Happy )

How on earth did they get the rights to that?

"Hello, we're from the country that's currently bombing your country... please can we show your coverage of us attacking you?"

That's a qood question. It was probably in Serbia's interest to get its point-of-view across to U.S. viewers. Perhaps C-SPAN's status as an editorially independent, non-profit channel also made things easier.

This show was also shown (and is still being shown now) on TV5 which is channel 805 on Sky.

Its in 4:3, the BBC have cropped it.

Looks like they've wangled a direct feed as well judging by the distinct lack of France 2 bug
