From what I've been told, they plan to re-play Election 2005 very soon too. IIRC on Saturday 7th May.

Yep - that would seem to be correct:

And there's another one... 1955 (yes, that's 1955 ) is being repeated on 26 May. All three hours of it.

Hmmm... I won't be here for that one (instead, I'll be sampling the delights of Canadian TV and Radio) - Is there anyone willing / able to record this for me, preferably onto a DVD or as a RealPlayer file or DivX or something (as I no longer have any VCR's in the house, but not yet a DVD recorder either). And if anyone can record the other two aswell, I'd be most grateful. I'm quite happy to pay the cost of the media and postage if necessary, so if anyone can help, please let me know on this thread or via PM.
Thanks! Smile

We seem to have jumped from the "going off air" at 0600, to BBC London's regional programme from 0930.

[edit]
..so there is someone in the BBC Parliament gallery this afternoon - they've just stuck a 'Replay' graphic on top of BBC London's occasional LIVE dog Smile

Why oh why will they not replay election night 92?

It was one of the most interesting election nights of the past 30 years, and it has yet to make an appearance. Perhaps because of the BBC's exit poll f*ck up?

1955 only 3 hours? That's odd. There's a clip on the BBC website featuring Richard Dimbleby's signoff, and in it he says the programme's been going for 24 hours.

Maybe only the last 3 hours survive?

Wasn't the regional opt from 9-9.30? If the half hour of Breakfast I saw was typical, then it wasn't worth showing - they just kept repeating the same 5 minute cycle that Labour had their Historic Third Term. Suppose it does the job for those who are just waking up, and given that it's the proper analysts' three hours off they can't do any proper examination of what it all means.

Yep, that's exactly what I meant to say. Smile

I really wish they'd show the 92 election again.

That, and Network 7, were some of the things that sparked my interest in pres.

The 92 studio was huge, had two levels and an unfeasibly large video wall. Magnificent stuff.

Ahh 92!! The last time they used that big booming BBC Election theme. Sad It's weird how the election shows always come from studio 1 at Television Centre and yet some sets look bigger than others. The one in 92 seemed so massive because they had two raised desks and then the floor was filled with staff.

EXCELLENT!! And I'm off today!! Very Happy This is the one with the spectacularly wrong exit poll, Dimbleby scoffing on a Mars bar and Peter Snow's computer breaking down. The set doesn't look like it but this was broadcast from Studio 1.

I hope they re-run Election 70 and 74. Smile

The 70 election was shown earlier in the summer to coincide with the death of Ted Heath. It's unlikely to be shown again soon. At least they have two 1974 elections to choose from.
