It's a good idea - NK must be the choice because she has journalistic skills and can work in the newsroom on general tasks in the hour between the two.

I think you are looking too much into the NK thing. This is merely a trial and even if it is successful, I doubt she will front the 6 and 10 or even the 1 all the time.
She has a few months to go before Huw, Fiona, Sophie and George all get the boot for her to take over.
No seriously, they will need to sort out the make up of any round up - I wonder if it will resemble the summaries in the lead up to the 1 with Sophie?
However, the BBC better be careful in how much exposure they give Natasha, as while I quite like her, I am fed up seeing her all the time. Children in Need, Strictly Come Dancing and the 6 - that is fine - but appearing on most BBC News programmes that is too much. I would also say that while she is undeniably popular she will never come close to Moira at her peak in the eighties!

I rekon Hue would be a good idea, he always has a good personality on screen.

By the way does darren Jordan still work for the BBC?

Yes Huw would also be a good presenter.

Darren left for Al Jazeera a few months ago.

Please, please, please NO.

I go off to 987 at 18:30 to avoid Mr Faciest and Miss Shovell.

Don't make me have to remember to use 987 for the whole bloomin' evening to avoid them.

I think its a good ideal since I watch BBC Three and I find 60 seconds very good for taking in news quick

I take it that is when you are finished with the regional news on Channel 3? I am interested in your pet names though...

wonder if we're going to see a stack of local trails while this news roundup is on in the Midlands, eg the local centre opting out and playing trails whilst Natasha Kaplinsky's bit is on the sustaining feed. Or I guess more likely they will they just feed the NK bit to Brum on a contribution circuit during the trial.

Perhaps you could record ITV West News on your DVD recorder and watch it during that half hour.

I understand I'm down on the rota to watch ITV West News on December 11th this year, but I'm hoping to be ill that day and get out of it.
