The music is great. Was it David Lowe's who created this version?

Yup

I see this morning they're using one of the plasma screens as the stand-up position for Ben doing the business news.

Are they reading this thread . . . Very Happy

Have to agree with others here, the Sports studio being used for Breakfast really does work and shows up the terribly cramped conditions the program usually comes from.

Let's hope a studio rejig is on the card after the games!

I imagine the lighting grid contributes a lot to that. As its been mentioned the sports studio looks big because it appears open with the glass walls looking into the newsroom and the high grid height. However from what I've seen through the images and videos posted there's not much room for versatility presentation wise where the majority of the usable area is used as a sofa.

Maybe they can use both post games with the sport studio as the primary set with the regular studio used as a satellite location.

Is there much need for versatility though - weather is done from London or on location and the small screens would be sufficient for any stand-up presentation - the days of ever increasing sized screens are long gone.

The neck straining to see the plasma screen for DTL interviews/weather in the usual studio has always been an issue.

I'm sure something could be done to improve the angles in that odd space but I do prefer the Olympic Breakfast set up and feeling of space.

Does look like it'll be back to the old inferior studio though - North West Tonight hasn't decamped so little hope of any changes.

I assume BBC Sport bulletins on BBC News and BBC World are done from the same set using the same presenter, just co-ordinated not to clash - or do some come from the second set whilst the other channel uses the first set? Either way not really an issue at that time in the morning.

Inferior is definitely one word for it. More's the pity. They've been at great pains every day to emphasise that the BBC Sport studio is only their temporary home for this fortnight.

I suppose they could be doing it to explain the big BBC Sport logo in some shots. The average viewer may look up one moment and see a change and think it's a sport segment.
