Gordon with North West Today from Radio Merseyside's building this lunchtime, they'll be here today and tomorrow due to 'essential maintenance work' at Oxford Road.

The red 'sofa' is the like the Look North (Leeds) individual chairs that fit together

Although I've not seen NWT today, I presume they've got the same setup at Radio Merseyside like what they did in September 2007 when the studio at Oxford Road was refitted. If you are in Liverpool, take a walk into the BBC Shop as you can look right into RM's studio.

That's a nice touch they've removed the Salford Quays backdrop and replaced it with one of the Liverpool waterfront.

It's not too much different than 2007, just a couple of more plasmas.

I like how they go to Liverpool when work is being done - shows a good commitment to an under-served part of the region, you'd almost expect them to do it from the foyer of BBC Oxford Road (although I guess they can't if the work being done is in the gallery).

That looks so much bigger than when it's on North West Tonight. Is there no way of moving the cameras back a bit so it doesn't look so cramped?

I'll bet they need to leave some sort of fire lane behind.. I think access to the radio studios is through that space as well

It loooks quite cosy there and its nice to see Anabelle presenting again! i BET SHES SO GLAD SHE left central all that time! look where she is now! presenting NWT regulary and filling in and doing a brill job!If she were at central shed prob b with the rest redundant!

Am I right to assume that Mark Edwardson was presenting from Manchester tonight, just not in the studio? Does this suggest the technical work is finished and they're doing something to the studio rather than gallery?

The short afternoon 3pm bulletins had that set-up on Thurs and Fri.

Probably still in Liverpool then. There was me getting all excited they might have actually got rid of the horrid blue in the studio.

they were having the studio's annual lighting grid safety checks. All lights have to be removed, the grid checked then everything re lit. Directed from the usual gallery in Manchester.
