Would the transmitter at Storeton on the Wirral be able to serve Liverpool with a localised programme? I know it is relaying the current signal to Merseyside, but does that mean it receives the signal from Winter Hill itself, and re-broadcasts it to its service area? I'm not 100% clear on relays, as I've only ever had to deal with Winter Hill.

I don't think so, I'm afraid. Storeton's good for the Wirral and much of south and central Liverpool. The rest of us rely on Winter Hill. Maybe if it's strength was boosted, but there may also be geographical issues. Wasn't this Winter Hill B supposed to allow split transmissions?

I think a converage area similar to that of Radio Merseyside would be ideal. I wish we had the US affiliate system with media markets based on BBC local radio areas. Not going to happen though.

Doesn't the Wrekin have a NW transmitter - for South Cheshire/North Shropshire areas?

Anyway, that's the last time we'll see these titles for a main bulletin - 5 years since they were first used on the programme, it'll be strange not seeing them for the first few days of next week.

Did everyone see the preview of the new set on NWT tonight? Looks very snazzy. Very similar to national but slight variations.

Shame the website bulletin isn't uploaded yet. I guess its something like the Reporting Scotland set?

Are those curved swishes on the panels an indication of the new graphics?

I hope those what look to be projector screens are better than the one in the current set and those used at N24. They never look very clear IMO.

Was definately due a refresh though, not sure about the two presenter format until we see it mind.

They havent yet revealed to the viewers about Ranvir yet, but Gordon gave a clue with "you'll sing (Singh) her praises" tonight.

Hmm, that looks different, probably close to the National set. Anyone know if they're keeping the Oxford Road view? Could it fit into the screen where the Testcard is?

Different is all I can say, as we've had rather similar sets for the last 7 years now.

Yes. And they're quite nice too Wink

Just caught NWT online then and they seem to bum Liverpool despite the fact they've only been there for 2 days and that's all it'll be. Quite a praise for the Radio Merseyside building from Dianne there, considering she's one of the main voices on Radio Manchester.

It's quite a nice set up they've had in Liverpool for the past 2 days, nothing like a bit of change, although they were overusing the Radio Merseyside roof. Laughing

Roll on Monday, probably 1.30pm would be the best time to tune in?

Hmm. It reminds me very much of the late 90's look with the bright colors. I'm not sure if those panels are clever glass or frosted glass.

Well you'll probably be disappointed if you tune in at 2pm.
