Is the music exactly like LDN or is the bit at the end like Look East / Mids Today?
The exact same as LDN, I was expecting them to use the Look East / Midlands Today one.
Works rather well.... the signature 4 notes at the end match the 4 syables in the title of the programme. The LDN travel bed is too fast for headlines though
From what I've seen, the new NWT look appears to be a good effort - like Midlands Today it also appears to be better than the BBC national news presentation wise.
However - I think the LDN-style local news doesn't work with the national news as a corporate look. I'm half tempted to make a mock of what I think the BBC news corporate look should be like...
The banter is very forced on NWT isn't it. With long pauses in between banter mode and let's move on mode
Not entirely fair. I thought Gordon was trying hard to be enthusiastic and banter last night.
I only saw till about 6.50, but the banter at the end of the sport (which was fine) was appropriately followed by a pause as Gordon was going on to a serious story.
Did the lunchtime weather before Nicola Dixon and then went off to Auz, she does breakfast now on BBC GMR

Well it is a brwath of freshair for NWT. The set no longer looks like a cardoboard box. It looks fresh and differnt to other news regions the red suits the titles and the LDN CREDITS (which sound slightly different to those of midlands today and looK North are much needed!)
For the first time in ages Gordon seems much more comfortable on his new desk and set. H
ow often do they use the sofa bench then? It would look good for him to use it more permanantly at 6 30 maybe , but i would stay behing the newsdesk for the lunctime bulletin. Maybe even use the sofa at night for the brief 10 25 bulletin?
Does anyone have anymore downloads of it? Did Gordon mention the new set?

All they need to do now is grt Anabelle Tiffin on there with him, his dull witt and her different sense humor would go nicely i think.

O.k. excuse the spelling, i should type slower, blooming laptops, i hate them, keys are too small for my fat fingers lol.
Anyway has anyone got anymore real player videos on the new North West Today. I might even go as far as saying it looks nicer than Midlands Today and Look North and you all know how much i am a huge of a fan i am of both these regional programmes set and presenters. Peter levy makes me laugh.
Love the LDN music in particular is makes NWT sound more professionsal, it EVEN looks much more professional and not so squashed into a corner. threy have finally done something with the size of their studio!!! its big and it is finally being utilised.
WELL DONE NWT. I know why not go really London like and re name the programme LNW (lOOK NORTH WEST) Like in the old days. I much preferred that name.
oh and when are they going to update their website and have real player so we can watch their latest programme. I noticed some of Look North's technical problems seem to have been sorted out.
The ending of North West Tonight is far better now, much more professional. Previsouly the camera didnt zoom out and just cut off back to national news.
Watched part of NWT this evening, whilst I like the new look I did think that technically the pictures (on DSat) were very soft - certainly poorer than Look North was at Woodhouse Lane which I imagine would have been similar kit to that in Oxford Road
