Too young to present the main regional news that targets an audience twenty years older than her.
Twenty years older?! That's a bit of an exaggeration that they're targeting the over 50s!
Pity about the set; I really like the current one. I just hope we get some titles that are completely different and better animations on the graphics (or at least just better ones!).

Well i hope we keep the current them music but maybe change the pictures. The set isn't that old so i don't see why they are re vampin it
doesn't seem worth it to say that in 3 or 4 yrs time bbc north west manchester will move. Let's hope we don't get the awful london credits, they're cringeworthy! I hope they keep the big screen and the main desk and sofa look. Lets hope they don't go like look north leeds, now that does now look pretty dire!
I personally hope they start from scratch with the revamp. The current look is dire, the show's only saving grace is Gordon. Glad about Ranvir being co-anchor, I really like her.
The set looks basic compared to other regions such as Midlands Today, I'm glad they're refurbishing the set. There's too much red in the current set, but hopefully the big window will remain as it is.
I'm disappointed about the change to having two presenters for the show - Gordon's perfectly good presenting on his own, I feel this will give the show a more light-hearted feel - one of the advantages of NWT is the very suitable expression and voice Gordon uses for each story, although Ranvir and Gordon are good presenters in their own right, I feel this will be lost when it goes to two anchors for the programme.
As for the titles, as legendary as the iconic shots of the Big One, Jodrell Bank and the footballers are, NWT is long overdue an update on the titles - they're 5 years old now. I hope the current music is kept as well as the headline bed, the music is suitable for NWT. Please don't switch to the current London music/titles!

I totally disagree. Midlands Today is entirely set on a sofa; NWT is one of the only regions that have managed to keep a desk. The only half decent thing about Midlands Today is the newsroom background, but I still believe a window (like NWT) is more appropriate for a regional news programme.
I'm not even a viewer of NWT, but from what I have seen, I think the set is the best out of the regions. As a viewer of Look North (NE&C) I feel our set is poor, we still have the elements of wood knocking around, where as the NWT set seems all very clean and smart. I hope the new set will look just as good, and other regions base their sets on the design.

They do have a desk on Midlands Today, you see it in the opening shot after the titles and Nick and Suzanne are sat on sofa 'at the desk' throughout the programme - the desk is just hidden out of view. Also don't forget NWT has its own dreaded bench as well, usually with wires in view underneath. Don't get me wrong Midlands Today has many faults - NWT has a better presenting team for a start and the news quality is generally better - more time dedicated to hard news and sport on NWT.
I've just driven home from Manchester on the M62 and went right past a NWT OB truck. I haven't seen one of those for ages. It had the BBC logo on the back and the current NWT logo with the concentric circles on a red background on the side.
How do people who upload the videos of past NWT episodes actually find them in the first place?
By going through old video tapes.
Ok, it's just that there doesn't seem to be much video footage of the current (2004-) set, other than on the NWT website.
A few months back the TV Room had a video available showing the titles/headlines of the first NWT episode in the current set (8th November 2004) - it seems like they've removed it.
