He just seems to have disappeared....

Peter has been covering the Breakfast bulletins last week or so.

That was Peter Marshall. Peter H just seems to have gone elsehwere. Production or editing role perhaps - maybe pastures new?

Don't know about lunchtime but Ranvir was presenting tonight (and was on North West Tonight yesterday and Friday).

I think I remember Gordon not presenting around this time last year and possibly the year before as well, so this might be his holiday. He interviewed on the programme yesterday, not in the newsroom/studio though, it may not have been live.

I had heard that he had left the BBC under a rather dark cloud (i.e. been messing around with other mens wives amongst other things) see www.how-do.co.uk rumours and conjecture page...
I doubt if he is employable now - but if you do happen to see him on BBC News 24 or the like - then let me know so that I can avoid watching. He was a boring and unemotional reporter anyway!!

Ranvir Singh annoys me... I agree with the article Londoner posted. I like a friendly newsreader, but she's TOO friendly.

Thats good news about the studio. What does it mean about the plasma TV? Would it be like the national news studio?

Yeah - well just think yourself lucky having someone who has some life about them. There are more presenters who are aloof or have as much life as a mortuary!
So when is Ranvir co presenting with Gordon and will this spell a massive revamp?
Oh and I think everyone should remember that Ranvir is only 30 years old btw! She would be doing well to regularly co-host a programme at that age anyway. I say good luck to her!!

It's confirmed that from Monday 10th September that Gordon Burns will co-anchor NWT with Ranvir Singh. There will also be a massive set revamp.

I think this spells the beginning of the end for Gordon personally. Surprised that Ranvir is only 30, she is a very talented presenter for someone of that age.

I think Ranvir is the wrong choice. I think she is awful, so smarmy, all teeth and tinsle. Too young to present the main regional news that targets an audience twenty years older than her.

If they want to get rid of Gordon, just get rid of him. Dont phase him out slowly.

Stuart Flinders and Dianne Oxberry would make a great double act. Di has shown she can handle news on her radio show.

She is lovely in person and is very grounded for what she does career wise. I doubt Ranvir will see herself as someone special and she has huge respect for Dianne, Gordon and co. From what I can gather, she is hugely popular at BBC Manchester as well.
