He works very hard presenting two programmes and one bulletin a day, every day - any break he has is deserved.

I agree with you, he's 61/62 now and still presents almost every Weekday rather than other TV News presenters who only do about 3 or 4 days per week.

When he started NWT his voice was still fine, then about 2003/4 there were points when it sounded really bad, and many an occassion he almost lost his voice on air, but now it's not as bad as it was.

Also interesting to see how different he looks and sounds when you compare NWT to Krypton reruns on Ftn.

I would never have guessed that - God I really feel old now!!
I was considered young during the Krypton Factor era lol. Laughing
I wonder if his colleagues will get him a birthday card or a happy retirement - I want your slot - card?

He sounds so different now to what he sounded like on the Krypton Factor!

I have wondered whether he may call it a day sometime this year, being 65 and having presented NWT for 10 years.

A bit off topic, but where can I find intro clips of NWT - specifically from 2004/2005 period? TV ark/whirl etc have replaced the 04/05 NWT intro clips with 2006 style NWT intro.

I don't know what to think about Ranvir Singh. She seems like a lovely girl but every time I watch her on NWT she makes mistakes.

Ranvir is a good presenter. Whilst she is talented, I feel the presentation team at NWT have let her down. I think that previous speculation about a Gordon-Ranvir NWT may be incorrect.

The more likely option is a Stewart-Annabel combo three nights per week, with the Gordon-Ranvir combo two nights. From what I have heard, Mark will become the main breakfast presenter, with Naomi on weekends and Carol/Kate Simms

I personally can't see them choosing Stuart and Annabel over Gordon and Ranvir. Gordon is North West Tonight, and Ranvir is obviously flavour of the month (and rightly so) judging by all the 6.30 shows she has done recently.

As dubious as I am about these claims of a double-headed show, there is no way they would sideline Gordon.

EDIT: Saying that, I got the impression Tony Livesey was being groomed for Gordon's role. They seem to be trying to make him a well -known face of the show. I think he's good, personally - not your stereotypical regional news presenter but I think he could pull it off.

The cameraman could be seen pointing at Dianne and the weathermap as NWT cut back to Ranvir after the forecast. It did look dreadful.

Not as dreadful as your grammar does look in that post.
