Oh dear!
Terrible autocue problems at the beginning, 20 very uneasy seconds, not least for Gordon who stumbled his way through explaining the problem, before finally reading the first headline. Still very well covered by Gordon given the circumstances and he gave us a brief description of the autocue for good measure.

On his desk - he also has a copy of the running order too.. I think they should be probally trained to deal with these situations.. as I'm sure in the pre-meeting they would have discussed the headlines in order, and he could have just said, "Well for the meantime, we'll move onto our first story, this report by x y z" - There is 3 autocue cameras though.. possibilly the connection went dead or something.

Despite Gordon jokingly telling us at the end of the progamme that we could see the terrible start to the programme were his autocue went 'upside down' again on the online edition, the begining of NWT has been cut off
Also the 10.25 bulletin had a repeat of a two-way interview complete with its LIVE bug (why are they using this old odd bug still btw?)

Do you work on NWT? You seem very sure of these things.

Does anyone know when this clip of NWT was from? http://media.putfile.com/BBC-NORTHWEST-TONIGHT-THEME
I've narrowed it down to sometime between April-June 2006, can anyone remember what the first headline (which we see the start of) was about?

It was a bit of an uncomfortable programme last night, especially during the Jayne Barrett segment. Gordon was stumbling along and Jayne kept getting the telephone numbers wrong. Eventually, Gordon corrected her, which felt a bit cringeworthy. I still prefer NWT over Granada Reports, but GR is a smoother operation.

Was it a slow Newsday yesterday or something? The Top Story on NWT (at 1.30pm and 10.25pm) was about the people being ripped off on Mobile Phone contracts and they wanted to hear if you had been affected by such a scam. Whilst on Granada Reports (11.10am and 10.50pm) it was about the woman who was having both of her breasts removed to stop her from getting cancer.
I wasn't really impressed as both weren't real News, and I'd expect better from NWT.
