Nichola is getting married in Leeds tomorrow.

Indeed she did, even Gordon was at the wedding and took his Digital Camera with him, he showed a photo of the Wedding on the Lunchtime NWT today.

Though I was under the impression that NWT was running a bit short of actual News tonight, despite the whole Vauxhall Redundancies, there was the Cop School thing, The Lancashire Filmmakers (fair enough here, this has been a series) and the story about a Merseyside school having the same design as the Barcelona FC strip.

Though slightly OT, Channel M has had another shift around the Urbis, it's now located on the Ground Floor of Urbis by the Entrance, and yet I'm surprised I didn't see anyone waving into the Window... Rolling Eyes

Can somebody get some caps of the titles for North West Tonight? Cheers!

How did they do the changeover to new kit? OB scanner parked outside whilst the gallery was being tweaked or have they swapped into Studio A - the mothballed network studio?

No, a temporary gallery has been built, using most of the new kit (cameras, stereo sound desk etc), but it only has a very simple vision mixer, hence why no "live" logo etc. The old gallery is being stripped out and replaced, to be brought into service some time in July. The current temporary gallery will then only be used for short bulletins, e.g. breakfast weekends etc, which don't normally need things like a "live" logo as they rarely have live inserts.

Btw the "mothballed" studio A you refer to has been completely stripped of all technical equipment and all sold off, its only ever used now as a "floor space," currently shooting series 2 of "Life On Mars."

Dumb-question time... why is BBC Wales shooting Life on Mars , a programme set and filmed in Manchester? Do BBC Manchester produce dramas such as Life on Mars ?

What happened on NWT last night.
The sound disappeared for about 4 minutes in the middle of the Prog.

nice piece this lunchtime about wayne rooney's knee - live from the hospital and i loved the bit where the silver merc goes past so fast you don't have a clue who was in it! Do you think NWT will go Rooney mad for the World Cup?

Maybe NWT could invite the England squad to the Tatton Park flower show this year.

Last nights sound problems were awful. Gordon sat chatting to himself for minutes, then a botched "still to come" sequence.

Over the last few days I've noticed some variety in camera shots in NWT. Some of the headline slots no longer use that awful overused shot with the projector screen in view and the underneath of the desk, wires and cup holder in view!

Plenty of variety on tonights programme with a new main shot with Gordon sat on the left of the 'window' and a view down Oxford Road to the right.

I noticed that tonight, it looked alright, though it did look rather empty, but different either way.

Anyone read the Manchester Evening News today? They had pictures of what the New Media Zone for the BBC could look like, it looks rather different than Oxford Road, though if it does get the go-ahead then I think they're going for quite a Mailbox style place, as it looked more like a Shopping Mall in parts. Though it's likely that wherever the BBC move to, it'll probably be Manchester rather than Salford, as that was hotlisted by the BBC apparently.

This is the same as happens with Life of Grime. The series is now based around Glasgow but is still a BBC Bristol production.
