BBC Radio Manchester launched today and you can tell its from the same person behind the BBC Radio Leeds relaunch
"Manchester is changing. And so are we"
"Makes your workday go faster"
"Drive thru news for the journey home"
All slogans used here as well.
They've also adopted the top of the hour 'News/Sport/Weather/Travel' headline sequence
It's a very big relaunch though, as they've also greatly altered the schedule. Terry Christian and Anthony H Wilson are spread allover the schedule

I managed to listen to a bit of BBC Radio Manchester this morning on the way to work, and I really like it so far, Terry Christian was honest and rather amusing, he was very funny at about 8.55am today after a report of a Youth Club where kids can use some form of hovercraft, and he responded in how his days that wasn't the case and it keeps the kids from nicking cars!
Like the new TOTH Jingle, it was a hard tune to follow, but this new tune sounds much better and keeps the authority. Though now it's a mouthful to say instead of GMR, so far so good.

The 'LIVE' aston has only ever made rare appearances, sometimes appearing and then disapearing during lives if at all.
Just a few weeks ago we had the re-introduction of the pre-2004 relaunch LIVE aston, which clashed with the name strap. During one live the LIVE aston was faded up and down each time a name strap appeared.
The location strap was only ever used for the first couple of programmes after the relaunch and for the Special programmes from Istanbul in 2005. Also used for other details such as picture credits/dates etc and for presenter names on shorter bulletins, it now seems to have lost the red circle thing on the end!

Loved the moment at the end of the programme tonight when Gordon asked the audience what to do next! Phone a friend and 50:50 are next week perhaps!
GA
That was quite funny.... though Gordon handled it very well! His earpiece had fallen out of his ear so he couldn't hear the count to the end of the programme. he finished the emails he was reading, then "asked the audience" and someone from the studio floor shouted "more emails" and he must have been given the count to the end of the programme from the studio floor.
I noticed as well the shot used to end the programme when they're in the soft set is very nice!
