I've got a theory about TV addict as well.

Have you noticed how he tries to make out he's just an ordinary viewer? Well, I reckon that's all bobbins.

Look through some of his postings at his language - quite clearly he knows the jargon.

He seems to have inside knowledge of the viewing figures for both Granada and BBC NWT. But you can't get regional viewing figures from BARB unless you pay for them, or you work in the business.

He seems to be very positive about the editorial direction of Granada over the last couple of years, but then to try and throw you off the scent he throws in a negative comment every now and again.

Draw your own conclusions folks, but I'd lay money he works in regional telly in a senior position, probably for Granada.

Come on TV Addict - tell us who you REALLY are! Wink

Senior management figures (even ITV) can spell, though.

Unless it's another ploy to throw you off the scent!

TV Addict a cover name for a senior Granada exec? Come on News Woman you know that can't be true - all Granada's senior managers have beggared off to London and TVA still lists his local service as GintheNorth. Laughing If s/he's anyone at Granada he/she can't be that important. I suspect a lowly member of the newsteam, oft overlooked for promotion though once highly regarded, now the wrong side of forty in a buisness notorious for its lack of sentimenality. Shocked Now I'm starting to surprise myself - perhaps, News Woman, you can show the way into journalism? Idea

Some people get very worked up!
I used to work at Granada.
I now work elsewhere in a media related job in the North West.
I've done some freelance work at BBC Manchester.
If you look at my posts I've mentioned both those facts before so nothing new there then!
I know about the figures because they are mentioned in Granada TV's Annual Report and when I was there anybody could get hold of them on their computer system.
I haven't mentioned them for quite a while because I haven't seen them since I left.
If you want to think I'm more important than that then I can't change that.
In fact I'm flattered.
But I do think those who put the charge may be hiding something themselves!

You can take the bloke out of Granada but you can't take Granada out of the bloke.
"I think some people are....."
Sounds like a typical Quay Street competition question to me. I can just see Lucy or Tony getting all hot and bothered over a prize of a free hairdo before introducing yet another Paul Crone feature from Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Rolling Eyes

Another nice little cock-up on the 3.20pm NWT today, at the end Gordon read out the Weather, than he looked confused and mumbling at the same time, then saying are we going back to London? Then he says something else halfway through a sentence he gets cut off by a North West Tonight sting for about 30 seconds, what's going on? Laughing

Anyway Gordon and Dianne are in Chester tomorrow meeting up with the public and having photos taken, so far they've been at The Trafford Centre and Liverpool, is there a list of where else they'll be? If it's closer to me I wouldn't mind going. Has anyone from the forum?

Manchester and Liverpool so far.
As you say Chester this week.
I presume they'll eventually visit somewhere in Lancashire, the Lakes and the Isle of Man.
