I thought the staff had gone on strike - or at least that the normal presenter had been struck down by a terrible food bug at the last minute!
Surely if they are going to try out somebody you'd do that at 320 when very few people watch.
Considering how many times it's messed up the BBC seem to care about his bulletin lease.
News at Ten is a key slot isn't it?
Who presents the Breakfast bulletins now, still Fiona Trot?
Mark Edwardson didnt seem much tonight on the late bulletin, sounded as if he was reading you a childrens story book. Anyone know why he is presenting, a replacement for Carol Lowe who mentioned on her profile that she had a baby on the way?
Ranvir Singh, Peter Marshall, Stuart Flinders, Kate Simms, Jayne Barret and of course Nigel Jay have all sat in the 10.25 hot seat in recent months!

I thought he was quite rubbish to be honest, let's have Nigel jay back!
Surely Mark should be given a go first at regularly presenting on the 320.
He's hugely over exposed on the 1025 and it could easily damage his confidence.
If he then doesn't cut it on the 320 that's his fault.
Surely the BBC have the resources to do that?
But please will someone give him a makeover.
It's entertaingingly bad.
However I suppose at least he should be given a month to try to improve, but it's disappointing if the BBC can't attract presenters of a better quality.
I'd expect to see Mark on Granada with their track record of awful male presenters such as Peter Berry - but not on any BBC region.

Ranvir Singh presents the weekend bulletins, and regularly appears standing-in on all the bulletins, she presented the lunchtime programme a couple of weeks backs.
In regards to the 3.20 bulletin this is usually the practice, Ranvir and Jayne Barret for two examples both made their first appearances on this bulletin IIRC.
I'm new to this so bear with me - I didn't think Mark was that bad Perhaps some bedding-in is required. But don't forget that his BBC profile seems to indicate he's going straight from a radio breakfast show to a late evening TV bulletin.
Oops, I hit "submit" when I meant "preview". I was going to that he does have some stiff competition on North West tonight. Gordon's a legend. Peter Marshall and Stuart Flinders are superb too. The girls? Ranvir, Kate, Jayne, Annabel, Carol - all of them very talented. It may be that Mark's relative inexperience is showing when compared to his colleagues. I'm also guessing he'll catch up.
