Sorry to see the guy go, he was quite good, but then a good asset to News 24. Though I bet Gordon is probably quite pleased as you can tell that they never got on 100%.
Who was they guy who used to present the Sport on NWT, he did it for years until about 2001 when he retired and went onto pursue other things, plus he didn't go out quietly AIUI.

You think so? I thought the pair complemented each other quite well, a good on-screen duo - both with a genuine interest in sports.
Yeah they do at the best of times, but people have mentioned on here that Gordon has onscreen been unhappy the odd time, ISTR one occassion when Dan did the link instead of Gordon, and I believe Gordon did say something about it after the link, I didn't see it, but it is on this topic somewhere.

Charlie Lambert - I think that might be him.
I remember this. There seemed to be some confusion/tech problems as Dan was looking around, then managed to fluff accross to Dianne for the weather. Gordon's comments were light hearted.
Yeah and I'm not sure if I'm right but they had a reporter called Alistair Mann on MOTD as well doing a report on Coventry.
Is that the same Alistair Mann from Granada Reports? If so, what's going on? Has he also left to go to BBC Sport?
By the way anyone see the thing NWT is doing featuring a report by one of their Reporters about themselves? Very strange.

I happened to catch this on NWT on Tuesday 17th (my birthday BTW) and it was telling you how to get in touch with the specialist reporter for your county/area of the North West. When I did see it, it was one of the female reporters who is the Cheshire correspondant based in Chester, but they said their Chester base only consisted of her and I think a cameraman. (And standard office equipment too)
Slightly OT but they've started showing that NWT promo again with Gordon and Diane at their homes saying that they'd be watching it if they weren't presenting it.
Has anyone been listening to Gordon Burns on BBC GMR tonight?
If you haven't it's been very interesting, he's the guest on GMR's answer to Desert Island Discs, but so far they've only played about two tracks because he's been going on about his career. And it has been very interesting, especially during the early years, around the 1960's when he worked for Newspapers in Northern Ireland and in London. He's been rather down to earth tonight, but so far not much said about Television, but he's on for another half an hour to an hour, so I'd tune in, it's really interesting.
