BBC North West Tonight

Both excellent shows, a sad day for all Manchester United and football fans.
Can't choose between the shows this evening, so well done to Granada Reports and NWT and well done to the presenters involved, as it was so easy to let the tears flow.

Gordon did seem rather touched.

Ending last nights (Thursdays) show with an emotional sign off, and nearly choking on his own "goodnight" this evening, sounded as if he was fighting back the tears!

Pity we didnt hear anything about the Liveprool Council leader resignation, which was breaking news on last nights (Thursdays) late bulletins. Sureley a quick news summary could of been slotted in?

That was the one difference. Granada decided to do a small news wrap which included the Mike Storey story while BBC NWT didn't.
Which was te right decision? You can probably argue it either way.

But Gordon sounds like he's choking every other day so no change there really.

You have to remember the fact that Gordon Burns was a journalist at Ulster Television during the 1960's and 70's and then at Granada Reports since the mid 1970's (until The Krypton Factor), so I guess he would have reported about him and probably met him once or twice, considering he's been in the same Regions as Best was.

So?

I bet people in Hull would vote for Levy, never mind how crap he is.

It all comes down to how well known a face he is. As Levy would say to the chairman of the NTA, "this voting, this is a bit embarrasing, isn't it?"

The NWT bulletin came from the newsroom this evening, with Ranvir.

Looked pretty awful to be honest.

A completely empty newsroom behind her with rows of PC's showing a log on screen.

There was no attempt to make it look better, like last time the newsroom was lit red, and the time before we had a plasma.

Is there any reason for the studio not being used this weekend? Last time this happened there was speculation on this thread about a mini-revamp, but unsuprisingly nothing different by Monday.

BBC ONE North West opting out tonight for the North West Sports Awards 2005. Apparantly not in its usual 7.00pm slot due to 'strong language'.

The late film followed at 12.25. How does BBC ONE NW take the film when it is still playing out on network?

Don't they have a separate copy of the film, & run late, presumbly joining N24 late?
